My name is Michelle Derrick and I started Hope for Hooves Rescue in 2020. It all began with a donkey named Cora. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 for the second time. Although it had spread to my bones and I was only given approximately 3 months to live, God used her to instill peace within me and to let me know that everything was going to be ok and that I was going to be just fine. Here I am today healed and whole because of my faith in Jesus! We have expanded our territory and now offer a program, Healing With Horses, for children ages 6-18 who are survivors of trauma and abuse. Our prayer is that each child who participates in our program will experience the same healing as I did.
